This webinar from the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning provides information and answers to frequently asked questions related to building quality collaboration across early childhood programs to support inclusion. In the first webinar federal leaders will address screening, referral, evaluation, and the eligibility process for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) services, including discussion on a recently released memo clarifying that Response to Intervention (RTI) cannot be used to delay or deny an evaluation under IDEA.  You can find a video of the presentation here.

Webinar Objectives:
·        Know about federal screening, referral, evaluation and enrollment policies that ensure children with suspected disabilities or special needs are served appropriately and in a timely manner.
·        Understand what Response to Intervention (RTI) is and its relationship to screening, evaluation and referral.
·        Understand the Head Start policy that requires at least 10% of enrollees to be children with disabilities identified under IDEA.
·        Know about resources associated with screening, evaluation, referral and inclusive services.
·        Understand each sector’s role in ensuring that young children with diagnosed or suspected disabilities receive the evaluations, services and supports they need to learn and develop to reach their maximum potential.
