This is a completed event.

Description:

Language Use in Language Arts: Connecting Content and Language is intended for English Language Arts and Reading teachers, coaches, and specialists, who have English learner(s) in their class(es) or on their caseload.  The one-day training will include activities that model and engage participants in research-based, interactive instructional strategies for enhancing grade-level, standards-based instruction for ELs. Participants will explore topics related to building literacy through oracy activities, supporting structured academic discourse connected to Standards of Learning (SOLs), promoting student autonomy and motivation, and creating authentic tasks for deeper learning and literary analysis.
