Workshop #2: Executive Functioning Challenges and Associated Behaviors (Region 4)

This is a completed event.

Description:

Teachers and parents are reporting challenges with short attention, thinking flexibly, self-regulation of emotions, and impulse control all linking to inappropriate behavior, both at home and school. These difficulties are all part of Executive Functioning. The ability to recognize and regulate ones emotions, attention, impulses and behavior is a learned skill that begins early. Children who have difficulty with self-regulation continue to struggle throughout life. This workshop will explain EF skills, and provide evidence-based strategies and activities to strengthen these skills to improve focus and behavior.
