Sensing the Needs of Children Birth through Pre-K: The Basics of Assessment & Strategies for Young Children with Vision & Hearing Loss (Abingdon)

Outreach Services, VSDB, Virginia Department for the Blind & Vision Impaired, and the Virginia Project for Children & Young Adults with Deaf-Blindness are planning a regional training series that will include two face-to-face trainings a few weeks apart with a webinar in between. The target audience includes early childhood special educators, early intervention educators, and related service providers working with children birth to 5.
The content will include an overview of vision and hearing, basic assessment tools and strategies when working with children with deafness, hearing loss, visual impairment, or deaf-blindness, including those with additional disabilities. The total hours available including training, webinar, and short assignment will be 15 hours. Limited spaces are available and attendance at both trainings is required. Registration is $25.00 and will include lunch.
