Description:
This session will begin with a review of unpacking standards to create transfer goals- the "goals worth teaching to". Then, using selected SOL content and transfer goals, teachers will practice the process of developing tasks, criteria, and rubrics to assess student acquisition of content along with the higher-order skills that make learning relevant and meaningful. Cost is $139.
This session will be led by Eric Carbaugh, Associate Professor at James Madison University. He works with future and practicing teachers on all aspects of high-quality instruction and assessment. Eric is a member of the VASCD Board of Directors and ASCD Faculty.
