This web discussion will focus on providing EI services in child care settings, presented by Cynthia Core and Dana Childress. With input from the audience, they will explore some of the challenges of providing services in child care settings and explore some solutions to the challenges. They will also answer your questions throughout the web discussion to help you consider how your program can provide services in child care settings.

We'd like to request that you register only if you plan to attend so that all who are interested are able to login. Additionally, if you participate as a group, each individual does not need to register.  More about the presenters:

Cynthia Core, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology at the George Washington University. She has been a an Early Intervention service provider in Arlington County for the past 2 years, and previously worked providing speech services in child care centers for several years in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Dana Childress, M.Ed. is an Early Intervention Professional Development Consultant with the Partnership for People with Disabilities at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked in the field of early intervention for over 20 years as an early childhood special educator, service coordinator, supervisor, trainer, and writer. She currently works as part of Virginia's early intervention professional development team developing resources and conducting web-based and in-person training. She manages content for the Virginia Early Intervention Professional Development Center and writes the Early Intervention Strategies for Success blog. She is the co-author of the book, Family-Centered Practices in Early Intervention: Supporting Infants and Toddlers in Natural Environments. Her interests include family centered practices, supporting family implementation of intervention strategies, adult learning and early intervention, and finding ways to help bridge the research to practice gap through interactive professional development. She regularly presents workshops in VA and has presented at state, national, and international conferences
