Description:

Data collection is an essential part of the evaluation and remediation of speech/language impairments. This series of three webshops discusses different types of data collection and provides free samples of multiple data forms.

Webshops:

  1. For speech language pathologists, data collection is essential in documenting treatment effectiveness, making treatment decisions, and providing feedback to parents, teachers, and students. Given our workloads, time constraints often make managing data collection for articulation, language, fluency, and assessments a challenge. These webshops will provide ideas and techniques for collecting and managing useful data for SLPs in the public schools. Free data collection forms will be provided. Part 1 will help you plan for the who, where, and when of data collection in your daily sessions.
  2. This webshop picks up where Part 1 leaves off. Part 2 explores different methods of data collection and provides some forms for recording and maintaining your data. It is best to do these webshops in sequence, so please complete Part 1 if you have not yet done so.

  3. Part 3 of this webshop explores data collection for assessments/evaluation. Data collected during assessment should help answer the question “Does this student have disability?”, which is different than determining if a student is making progress on established goals. It is best to do these webshops in sequence, so please complete Part 1 and Part 2 if you have not yet done so.
