Description: You are now entering the Virtual TechKnowledgy Conference area for practitioners and families working with students with autism spectrum disorders. We hope you will visit as many of the webshop sessions as possible. You will notice each webshop specifies an approximate completion time and includes an evaluation. The evaluation is required in order to receive a certificate of participation. You may want to print your certificate and attach it to your conference program thus verifying your conference participation. Enjoy the conference! Webshops:
  1. TARGET AUDIENCE: Autism, PK-12
    TIME: 30 minutes
    DESCRIPTION: This webshop will introduce participants to the concept of structured teaching and how setting up the environment and the materials for a work session can help a student with Autism or other related disabilites complete a work task independently.
  2. TARGET AUDIENCE: Autism, PK-12
    TIME: 15 minutes
    DESCRIPTION:This webshop demonstrates how a well-structured classroom that serves students with autism spectrum disorders can decrease frustration, reduce challenging behaviors, increase student independence and increase staff efficiency. Photos and videos are used to discuss seatwork, activity schedules and environmental structure. This webshop was created with the collaboration of the Southeastern Cooperative Education Program (SCEP) in Virginia Beach.
