VA ITSN Infant and Toddler Mental Health (ITMH) Consultant

This position is remotely based with travel required throughout the region, and state of Virginia.

Purpose: The Infant and Toddler Mental Health Consultant will increase caregivers/teachers/directors and families use of strategies and practices to promote the social emotional development of infants and toddlers therebyreducing challenging behaviors.

Reports to: Infant and Toddler Mental Health Supervisor

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a child-related field or field related to the provision of mental health consultation is required. Prefer Master’s degree.

Experience: A minimum of three years of direct service which includes at least one year of direct work with infants and toddlers; a minimum of one year of experience working with adults (e.g. training, mentoring, or leading caregivers/teachers); 25-40 hours of previously delivered training experience; and currently endorsed in Virginia in the Infant Mental Health Endorsement at Level II (Infant Family Specialist), Level III (Infant Mental
Health Specialist) or Level IV Clinical (Infant Mental Health Mentor) or apply for the Virginia Association for Infant Mental Health Endorsement and follow through on obtainment of the Endorsement and annual renewals, if accepted.
