Please note:  This is the same module, offered four different times to increase educator access to the information. Please register for ONE of the sessions listed.

The Department of Student Assessment, Accountability, and ESEA Programs and the Department of Special Education and Student Services is offering a training module for the Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP) that will focus on instructional strategies and practices for teaching the Science Virginia Essentialized Standards of Learning (VESOL) to students with significant cognitive disabilities in grades 3-8 and high school.

The training module will be presented by staff from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and the VDOE’s Training and Technical Assistance Centers (TTACs). Details for future training modules in reading and mathematics will be provided at a later date in a separate correspondence.

Please share this information with teachers, administrators, central office personnel, and other staff who serve students with significant cognitive disabilities. Advanced registration, using a link below for the desired webinar, is required. After completing an online registration, a confirmation email will be sent from the Office of Student Assessment to the registered participant.
