Description:

The Arc of Virginia 2017 State Convention will provide people with developmental disabilities (DD), family members, advocates and professionals with "must know" information about DD services and advocacy issues in Virginia.   The event will also help "recharge your batteries," as you learn about new and innovative models of support for people with DD and ways to promote self-care and overall well-being.

The Arc of Virginia State Convention provides a unique opportunity to meet, brainstorm and collaborate with other Virginians who are passionate about improving access to supports, protecting rights and promoting inclusion in communities across the Commonwealth.  Past attendees have shared that the event not only provided them with valuable and necessary information,  it helped them become stronger advocates on both the individual and system levels. 

The 2017 State Convention will provide attendees with updates on critical policy issues including Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus, DD Waiver Redesign, inclusive education, waiting lists, early intervention and the impact of federal policies and proposals.
