William and Mary 2018 Summer Math Institute

Offering elementary/middle school teachers, coaches, math specialists, or related professionals* an exciting opportunity for learning with math experts!

This year, the institute is focusing on math workshop. Math workshop is a model of instruction that allows all students to be engaged in the mathematics classroom - and for all student to realize their abilities as mathematicians.

The math institute will feature literacy expert Jennifer Lempp.

Jennifer Lempp, keynote speaker, is the author of Math Workshop: Five Steps to Implementing Guided Math, Learning Stations, Reflection, and More. She also currently serves as a Coordinator in the Office of School Support in Fairfax County Public Schools, Virginia. In addition, Jennifer has experience teaching in both Elementary and Middle School and served as a Math Coach for many years. Jennifer has facilitated professional development at the local, state, and national level, and is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescence Mathematics. She is enrolled in an Educational Leadership doctoral program at the University of Virginia and will earn her Ed.D. in Administration and Supervision.
