Webinar: Managing Stress in Siblings of Children with Special Needs (PEATC) (Feb. 21, 2019, 12:00pm-12:45pm)

This is a completed event.

Description:

This webinar will focus on the variety of emotional and behavioral reactions that siblings of children with special needs experience. How do you explain your child’s special needs to his or her sibling(s)? What is it like for a sibling of a child with special needs? How do these experiences change over the course of development and into adulthood? In what ways can parents help to manage the stress that these siblings experience? These questions and more will be explored.

Presented by Allison Maletsky, Psy.D, a licensed phychologist with years of experience in assessment services and a passion for working with children and their families. She believes that obtaining a comprehensive understanding of a child serves as a critical tool for not only diagnostic clarification, but also to serve as a guide for building future treatment goals and interventions by uncovering a child's unique strengths.
