The Co-Teaching Elementary Reading/Math CTERM(K-5) academy is a two-day academy designed for elementary school general and special education teacher co-teaching teams who work together during math and reading instruction. The purpose of this academy is to enhance student outcomes by improving content understanding, pedagogical strategies for mathematics and reading, collaboration/co-teaching strategies, and specially designed instruction in mathematics and reading.

The Virginia Department of Education will assume the cost of registration, on-campus DOUBLE  lodging, and meals for the team.  Upon successful completion of this academy a $200 stipend will be provided. Certificates of Participation will be provided to all participants who have perfect attendance.

The 2019 Content Teaching Academy sessions begin at 8:30 Monday, June 24 and conclude Tuesday, June 25 at 5:00. The daily schedule is set up much like a high school 4×4 block schedule, with two 1.5 hour sessions in the morning and two 1.5 hour sessions in the afternoon. Breaks with snacks and beverages are provided between sessions in both the mornings and afternoons.
