Just One Thing (JOT) Webinar: Separation Anxiety (Office of Student Services, VDOE)

This is a completed event.

Description:

Register for Separation Anxiety Webinar This presentation will offer tactical tools and strategies for elementary students struggling with separation anxiety. School counselors, school psychologists, and social workers can share these strategies with educators and caregivers to use both at home and at school. These ideas can easily be shared in student strategy

meetings, home visits, classroom counseling lessons, parent nights, kindergarten orientation, and during individual and group counseling sessions. With 15 years of experience as a school counselor, I’ve created caregiver handouts to provide at kindergarten orientation, social narratives and attendance incentives to use with individual students, and small group curriculum to help students learn and practice strategies together, and I will show examples of these and how I use them on the slides included in my presentation.
