Working allows individuals with disabilities to be more independent, earn a paycheck, and feel valued as productive community members. Many people with disabilities receive Social Security benefits (SSI or SSDI) and may also have Medicaid health coverage. You may be worried that if your child works, they will lose those critical benefits. The GOOD NEWS is that there are Work Incentive Programs that allow people to work and benefits.
