Highly Individualized Behavior Support Webinar (Disabilities Services Series)

This is a completed event.

Description:

Registration

Behavior concerns are often a typical part of development for young children who are learning to regulate their behaviors and emotions, solve problems, and communicate with increasing independence. They still need adult support, especially when feelings are intense.

When children have developmental delays or disabilities in the areas of communication or social and emotional development, they may benefit from teaching strategies or supports that are more individualized than everyday strategies. Join this webinar to discuss individualized positive behavior support strategies to ensure a healthy learning environment for children with disabilities or suspected delays. Explore resources and strategies a disability services coordinator can use to support this process in Head Start programs.

In this webinar, we’re discussing:

  • How to develop a proactive, preventative behavior support plan that focuses on skill development
  • How to identify what a child might be communicating with their behavior
  • The importance of relationships when addressing behavior concerns

This webinar will have English and Spanish captioning. Certificates of completion are available for this webinar.
