Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) Training Institutes-Registration Open!

This is a completed event.

Description:

This fall, the Virginia Cross-Sector Professional Development (VCPD) Team is coordinating three Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) Training Institutes. Practice-Based Coaching is an evidence-based cyclical process for supporting practitioners’ use of effective practices that lead to positive outcomes for children and/or families. If you are unfamiliar with PBC, check out these resources: https://eclkc.ohs.acf.hhs.gov/professional-development/article/practice-based-coaching-pbc.

The Institutes are open to technical assistance and supervisory professionals who support early childhood educators through coaching. The interactive two-day trainings consist of presentations, large group discussion, small group work, and practicing components of the PBC cycle. Topics include:

  • an overview of the PBC model
  • strategies for developing collaborative coaching partnerships
  • developing needs assessments, shared goals and action plans
  • focused observations
  • providing reflection and feedback

Registration is $150 and includes lunch each day. For more information, visit the VCPD website at www.vcpd.net.
