Real Co-Teachers of Virginia Go Virtual!

VDOE Excellence in Co-Teaching Initiative

Description:

This series of webshops showcases products created by real co-teachers of Virginia who dealt with instructional changes in response to the Covid-19 pandemic during the 2020-2021 school year. Socially distanced face-to-face instruction, virtual instruction, and hybrid instruction – all were rarely heard of just a short time ago. Products in this eWorkshop are shared by select teams of elementary, middle and high school co-teachers participating in the Virginia Department of Education’s Excellence in Co-Teaching Initiative.

Additional resources will be added to these webshops.  We encourage you to check back frequently for updates.

Webshops:

  1. Meet some of the elementary co-teaching teams in the 2020-2021 Excellence in Co-Teaching Initiative. They’ve shared LESSON PLANS taught to their students that you can re-create in your own class. For most lessons, you can see parts of the plan come to life in VIDEOS created as they shared responsibility for co-instructing virtually and face-to-face. They have also shared NEWSLETTERS about their collaborative relationships, their tried-and-true strategies for effective co-teaching, and their experiences co-teaching during the pandemic.

(Note: Some teams graciously provided links in their lesson plans to their presentations and other resources to help you understand and implement the plans. If you proceed to a web link outside of TTAC Online, you will leave the website and will need to log in again to continue viewing the webshop. If you see a lesson plan you might want to implement, download the plan and view the links from that file to prevent being logged out of the webshop. Time viewing outside resources will not be accrued in the certificate stored in your My TTAC Online account.)

Target Audience: Elementary, Middle & High School Co-Teachers and Administrators

  2. Meet some of the middle school co-teaching teams in the 2020-2021 Excellence in Co-Teaching Initiative. They’ve shared LESSON PLANS taught to their students that you can re-create in your own class.
