Virginia Teacher Preparation in Blindness/Visual Impairment (VI Consortium) (Applications accepted through August 1, 2021)
The Virginia Consortium for Teacher Preparation in Vision Impairment (VI Consortium) offers grant funding that covers up to 60 percent of tuition for qualified Virginia applicants who wish to become Teachers of Students with Blindness/Visual Impairment (TBVI). The VI Consortium currently consists of three Virginia universities (George Mason University, Radford University, and Old Dominion University) that collaborate to provide professional development and training for TBVI across Virginia. The VI Consortium offers multiple degree options for prospective TBVI to pursue their career goals, which include undergraduate and master’s degrees, and a graduate certificate. Applications for admission for the Fall 2021 term are still being accepted through August 1.
