Learning in Action: Using Universal Design for Learning to Improve Instruction and Increase Engagement (Warsaw, VA)

Description:

This interactive session will explore ways to design educational experiences that inspire and challenge learners of all ages and abilities.  

Participants will experience instructional activities across all content areas that feature Universal Design for Learning as a framework.  The three core components of UDL will be addressed:  

  1. Actively engaging all learners
  2. Presenting material in multiple ways to appeal to all learners
  3. Providing multiple ways for students to demonstrate what they have learned

Target Audience:

This event is ideal for special education teachers, general education teachers, co-teaching teams, therapists, lead teachers and administrators. Ideal participants would be willing to take the ideas and strategies from this session, participate in follow-up activities, share it with colleagues, and facilitate their implementation in their classroom/school.
