Assistive Technology: A Framework for Consideration and Assessment (Virginia Department of Education)


IEP teams have the responsibility to consider the need for assistive technology devices or services. The consideration process is a discussion among team members to determine if the use of low to high tech supports will assist the student in making educational progress. The 2022 Virginia Assistive Technology, Tools, and Strategies (VATTS) Resources will guide the IEP team through the consideration and documentation process. These resources replace the previous versions of the AT Consideration and Resource Guide.
