Sensory AccessABILITIES: The Unconference

Fee: $35.00 (includes drinks, snacks, and boxed lunch from Panera)
This in-person professional development event is for educators who work with students with sensory impairments and is a collaborative effort hosted by The Virginia Deafblind Project, The Technical Assistance Center for Children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and The Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind.
This event will focus on Sensory AccessABILITY and the Piece of the Educational PIE (People, Instruction, and Environment). Educators will engage in discussion-based sessions to reflect and collaborate on their own instructional practices.
The Unconference format is a participant-driven meeting where professionals choose which session to participate in. Participants are welcome/invited to serve as a session facilitator or notetaker to be more involved in this learning experience.
KEYNOTE: Nicole Alleman, MSW, DeafBlind Services Specialist for the Raleigh Regional Center with the North Carolina Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Ms. Alleman is DeafBlind and uses tactile American Sign Language and Protactile
