Registration-"Managing the IEP Process Through a Trauma-Informed Lens" Webinar

The Virginia Department of Education’s Department of Special Education and Student Services is hosting a voluntary webinar on June 15, 2023, from 9 a.m. - Noon. This webinar is open to special education coordinators, directors, teachers, school psychologists, school social workers, and staff involved in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.

The presentation features a focus on behavioral health supports and the intersection within IEP development from referral to family engagement to IEP design and implementation. Attendees will learn how to develop effective, compliant IEPs for vulnerable students. Divisions and schools focusing on trauma informed care and training are encouraged to attend this training opportunity.

The presentation will be followed by a Question-and-Answer session with the presenters and staff from the VDOE’s Department of Special Education and Student Services. Registration for the webinar is limited. All school teams are encouraged to have one person register and watch together as a team.
