Dr. Temple Grandin: Understanding Autism (Charlottesville, VA)

This is a completed event.

Description:

Elk Hill is hosting Dr. Temple Grandin, autism activist and best-selling author, as a guest speaker at a free community event in Charlottesville. Our goal is to spark public awareness and conversation about the needs and potential of children with autism.

Temple Grandin’s talk builds on her experience of being diagnosed with autism as a child to explore how her mind works to solve problems that neurotypical brains might miss. She makes the case that the world needs people on the autism spectrum: visual thinkers, pattern thinkers, verbal thinkers, and all kinds of smart geeky kids.
