IT IS OFFICIAL! Introduction to Holding Space is returning to Richmond, this time for a two-day event offering parents and professionals a chance to learn about trauma-informed care and holding space.

Have your heard of "trauma-informed care?” Trauma informed care is recognizing and understanding the impact of traumatic stress, and taking it into account in service delivery.

Do you know what it means to "hold space?” Holding space has been described as the conscious act of being fully present, open, allowing, and protective of what another person needs at a particular moment. Others describe it as virtually walking alongside someone on whatever journey they are on, without trying to impact the direction or outcome, which requires letting go of judgement or control.

Introduction to Holding Space – Two Day Seminar (Richmond)

Holding Space Day 1:  Thursday, January 30, 2020 (9:00 AM-4:30 PM) - Introduction to Holding Space
Day 1 is recommended for participants who did not attend the April 2019 Holding Space workshop.  Introduction to Holding Space will introduce topics covering the enhanced support to families following a hearing loss diagnosis to improve and protect the developmental outcomes of children and the well-being of families.What It Means to Hold Space.

Holding Space Day 2:  Friday, January 31, 2020 (9:00 AM-4:30 PM) - Holding Space in Action
Day 2 is recommended for participants from Day 1, Introduction to Holding Space as well as for former attendees of the April 2019 Holding Space Workshop. Day 2 will consist of new workshops and interactive scenarios that will build on the current foundation and knowledge from Day 1 of Introduction to Holding Space and the April 2019 Holding Space Workshop. Holding Space in Action.

Registration Fees
Parent/Family Member:  Free
Professionals:  $25 for 1 day
                         $45 for both days 
Morning Beverages and Lunch will be provided each day of the Training.
Payment must be made during online registration. You may pay with debit/credit card.
