IT IS OFFICIAL! Introduction to Holding Space is returning to Richmond, this time for a two-day event offering parents and professionals a chance to learn about trauma-informed care and holding space.
Have your heard of "trauma-informed care?” Trauma informed care is recognizing and understanding the impact of traumatic stress, and taking it into account in service delivery.
Do you know what it means to "hold space?” Holding space has been described as the conscious act of being fully present, open, allowing, and protective of what another person needs at a particular moment. Others describe it as virtually walking alongside someone on whatever journey they are on, without trying to impact the direction or outcome, which requires letting go of judgement or control.
