Free Training! Starting the School Year Safe and Calm (Formed Families Forward, FFF) (In-Person and Virtual Options Available)
Description:
FFF is pleased to offer Starting the School Year Safe and Calm for kinship and foster families* to boost family safety and wellness as we prepare for the 2024-2025 school year.
There will be three opportunities for the training, for your convenience. (Please choose the one that best fits your schedule.)
- 9/9/2024, 6:30pm - 8:00 pm: In-Person: Fairfax County @ the Sherwood Community Center, Fairfax City
- 9/20/2024, Noon - 1:30 pm: Virtual via Zoom
- 9/23/2024, 6:30pm - 8:00 pm: In-Person: Woodbridge @ the Pat White Center at Ben Lomond, Multi-Purpose Room A
The training will cover:
- Easy strategies to mitigate safety risks
- Evidence-based stress management tips & tools
- Where to find help
- Opportunities to connect with other families
Refreshments, take-away items, and a child care stipend are available for those attending in-person sessions.
A recording of the Virtual session will be made available to registered participants.
* Please note that while the training content is designed for a primarily foster and kinship family audience, strategies shared are helpful to families of all types, and to family-serving professionals. All interested parties are encouraged to register!
