Who Should Apply?

Parents who are new to the Special Education process interested in taking the next step towards collaborating as parent leaders.

PEATC's Parent Institute is designed for parents who are new to the Special Education process. The institute will provide an introduction to "Advocacy 101" for parents, information about resources and opportunities in their local area, and an opportunity to be 'paired' with a parent mentor in the form of a PEATC PACL graduate in their region for guidance, motivation, support, and advice. The Parent Institute will prepare participants to take the next step towards collaborating as parent leaders.
 
Meals, hotel accommodations, and mileage reimbursements are provided to all confirmed attendees, so apply early.
  • July 28-29: Roanoke
  • August 24-25: Williamsburg

Confirmed Roanoke attendees will be notified NO LATER THAN July 18, 2016.
Confirmed Williamsburg attendees will be notified NO LATER THAN August 12, 2016.
