This is a completed event.

Description:

9/15/2022 at 2:30pm- Supporting Siblings of Children with Disabilities

Being a brother or sister of a family member who has a disability comes with unique challenges and opportunities. As a parent of a child who has a sibling with a disability, you may have questions or concerns about how to talk with your children and help them through their unique journey. We’re connecting the dots on sibling relationships, ways parents can help siblings feel more supported, and the sibling support movement.

Having friends is personally valuable and developmentally important. We're connecting the dots on ways we can facilitate and promote social opportunities, interactions, and friendships for our children. Presented by Zach Rossetti, Boston University. Zach Rossetti, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Special Education in the Wheelock College of Education & Human Development at Boston University. His research focuses on social interactions and friendships between students with and with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
