Morphology Resources (VDOE TTAC at GMU)

Description:

  • Teachers and Administrators, do you and your team want to learn more about morphology instruction?
  • Do you need classroom materials for morphemic analysis? If so, this resource is for you!

The intention of this document is to compile resources for your professional learning and classroom use. It is broken into three sections that could be used for individual exploration, or as a collaborative learning team.

Section 1 provides quick reads to build background knowledge and essential understanding of what morphology instruction might look like in Language Arts and across the content areas.

Section 2 provides professional learning developed by the experts, to be used as self-paced modules, going deeper and learning how to embed morphology into instruction, as a powerful tool to unlock the power of infinite amounts of words.

Section 3 provides a wide variety of choices to select from, for use in classroom instruction.

Use this as a guide to get started in a single classroom, to add to your already existing practices or to build consistency and capacity in your Collaborative Learning Teams.
