Girls with ADHD: Strategies for Supporting and Advocating for Our Daughter...(Formed Families Forward, Region 4)

Girls with ADHD: it's not what you think! Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD) can present very differently in girls than it does in boys. Join Catherine Adams of the ADHD Resource Group of Northern Virginia and Dr. Kelly Henderson, Ph.D, Executive Director of Formed Families Forward for a free evening workshop. The session will address unique characteristics that impact identification, delivery of services and parenting of girls with the condition. A review of recent policy guidance that impacts the eligibility for school and post-secondary accommodations and supports will be provided. Practical strategies for parenting and advocating for girls with ADHD/ADD will be offered. Time will be provided for questions and discussion.

Session is FREE.

Open to all parents, caregivers, and professionals, though we particularly encourage attendance by foster, adoptive and kinship families. Formed Families Forward offers training and support to foster, adoptive and kinship families raising children and youth with special needs. Older teens and young adults are welcome to attend. Please note child care for younger children is not available.
