Webinar: Understanding and Addressing Trauma in Children and Youth (Formed Families Forward)

Description:

FFF presents this session for The Arc of Greater Prince William and PWCS.

Join us for an overview of childhood trauma and traumatic stress with experts from Formed Families Forward. Now more than ever, children, youth, and their families are coping with chronic stressors that often impact daily social emotional, academic, and behavioral functioning. Children and youth with developmental disabilities are at even higher risk of traumatic events and circumstances. In this session, participants will be introduced to types and categories of trauma, adverse childhood experiences, and basic brain science that help explain challenging trauma-triggered responses in our children. We will also practice some basic trauma-sensitive responses that help build relationships and support stronger self-regulation.
