13th Annual State-wide Professional Development Institute for Teachers of Students Who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, SLPs and Educators Who Work Directly with Students Who are D/HH

This year's ODUP Institute, Virginia’s Go-To event in d/hh education is designed to increase the knowledge and skills of teachers of students who are deaf and hard of hearing (TODHH) and educators who work directly with students who are d/hh. ODUP 2019 will continue its strong focus on effective strategies to positively impact early literacy development, effective remediation and long term academic outcomes for students who are d/hh.

Featured presenters for ODUP 2019, arranged through the Center on Literacy and Deafness (CLAD) https://clad.education.gsu.edu, will share research and evidence-based literacy strategies and interventions that have been developed especially for young children who are d/hh and may be used with

A limited block of rooms has been reserved at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Richmond-Midlothian for participants needing overnight lodging. To reserve a single/double room at the government-rate of $94.00 per night plus tax, please contact the DoubleTree by Hilton, Richmond-Midlothian and mention “Opening Doors-Unlocking Potential” by 5:00 p.m. June 4, 2019. Lodging availability cannot be guaranteed after the lodging deadline date. Eligible TODHH* must book and pay for lodging at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Richmond-Midlothian and submit receipts for reimbursement of staterate lodging costs to the Partnership by Friday, June 28, 2019. (Eligible TODHH must be currently employed full-time directly by a Virginia public school division or Virginia state operated program and work directly with students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Eligible TODHH must attend the full institute and not reside within a commutable distance to the hotel.

The Partnership strives to make all professional development sessions inclusive. Reasonable accommodations for participants with special needs can be made with notice by June 10, 2019. Registration Fees by June 10, 2019:

VA Public School/State Operated Program Professionals: $60

Paraprofessional/University Student/Parent: $40

Private Agency/Out-of-State Registration Fee: $125

Registration fees include an additional $10 charge if received after June 10, 2019 deadline. 
Refunds not available after the June 10, 2019 deadline.
