 An Administrator's Guide to Preschool Inclusion (Pdf) by Ruth Ashworth Wolery, Samuel L. Odom

Description:   This guide was developed to address some of the issues raised by administrators of 16 preschool programs serving 112 children with a wide range of disabilities in inclusive settings. Practical strategies to address challenges encountered by teams as they set up and maintain successful inclusive programs are provided. Also included are stories and experiences that illustrate how to make high quality early childhood inclusion a reality.

 CONNECT Module 4: Family-Professional Partnership

Description:   This module focuses on effective practices for developing trusting family-professional partnerships in early care and education programs (including home visiting, early intervention, and other 0-3 settings). CONNECT modules are free and use an evidence-based approach to professional development. They include video clips, activities, and handouts that are designed to be embedded into existing curricula, coursework, and other professional development opportunities.

Description:   The SpecialQuest Multimedia Training Library supports the inclusion of young children with disabilities birth–five and their families, in early care and education settings. The SpecialQuest materials and approach have been used with over 5,000 participants nationwide, refined over the past ten years, and have been shown to create and sustain change. Materials on this website are provided at no cost with funding from the Office of Head Start. (EArly Childhood)

Description:   The Interactive Collaborative Autism Network (ICAN) site is for anyone who lives with, teaches, or otherwise supports children and youth with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), including parents, teachers, and individuals with ASD. This site contains online instructional modules on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and information about characteristics, assessment, and academic, behavioral, communication, environmental, sensory, and social interventions.

 Mathematics Vocabulary Word Wall Cards (Virginia Department of Education)

Description:   Mathematics vocabulary word wall cards provide a display of mathematics content words and associated visual cues to assist in vocabulary development. The cards should be used as an instructional tool for teachers and then as a reference for all students, particularly English learners and students with disabilities.
